Introduce your kids to the wonderful, expansive world of art! In these classes, they will learn how to embrace their creative side with guidance from working artists. Your kids will get to practice: drawing, painting, ceramics, mixed media, and more!
This class begins in September and is every Tuesday/Thursday of that entire month. If there are 5 of those days a month, they will meet for 5 sessions. Any holiday closures will be communicated at the beginning of the month.
Each class begins at 4:15 pm and ends at 6 pm on its respective date. Drop off is from 4 pm-4:15 pm.
Requirements:
Ages 7 and up - past students will be grandfathered in, but new students must be 7 years old or older. This is to ensure that all young artists get the most out of the instructional time.
Clothes to get messy in (big, old t-shirt is fine)
Snacks are welcome! Please inform us of any allergies for your little ones!

averi leonard
Averi is a creative communicator and visual artist working at the intersection of art and design. Based in Lafayette, Louisiana, Averi recently earned a BFA in Visual Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Averi approaches every project with an ambitious, thoughtful hand, blending strong design principles with a fine art sensibility. For Averi, good design extends far beyond aesthetics; it is a visual language that tells meaningful stories, invites connection, and transcends words. Through her work, she seeks to bridge disciplines and create pieces that communicate with clarity, care, and a sense of wonder.
bailey karr
Bailey Karr is a multimedia artist from Baton Rouge who has been selling work under the name Out of Habit for the past seven years. A 2023 graduate of LSU with a degree in Studio Art and minors in Theater and Printmaking, Bailey specializes in screen printing and often produces merchandise for local bands from a home studio. Since college, Bailey has continued designing, making, and selling merchandise for the DJ collective Frequency.
Bailey’s passion lies in mixed media, working with collage elements—magazine clippings, vintage clothing patterns—combined with paint, chalk, and ink to render images filled with whimsy. Nature, childhood, and spirituality are central inspirations. Now based in Lafayette, Bailey is excited to begin this new chapter with Scrappie and looks forward to creating alongside the community.
